This notice covers the Minus 1 Recruitment website and the recruitment conversations you start through it.

• Website enquiries. Our enquiry form asks whether you are an employer or a candidate, your name, email address, an optional phone number, your message and permission to contact you. We store these answers and the submission date in our website database so we can respond.

• Job applications by email. Application links open your email app with a message addressed to jobs@minus1.co.za. We receive your email address, message and any CV or other attachments you choose to send. Applications are handled by email, not through a file-upload or application-tracking system on this website.

• Phone and WhatsApp. If you call or message us, you share the contact details and information included in that conversation. Opening a WhatsApp contact link takes you to WhatsApp, a third-party service with its own privacy terms.

Please share only what is relevant to your enquiry or application. Avoid sending identity documents, financial details or sensitive personal information unless we have discussed why it is needed. If you provide a referee’s or another person’s details, make sure you are entitled to share them.

We use the information you supply to reply to enquiries, understand hiring needs, discuss career opportunities, assess applications and manage the recruitment conversation. Required form fields help us understand your request and get back to you; you can choose not to use the form and contact us directly instead.

The website also processes technical information needed to operate and protect the service. For example, your IP address is used to limit repeated form submissions. Session information supports working forms and secure access; hosting systems may keep technical logs to investigate faults or misuse.

People handling your enquiry or recruitment process at Minus 1 may access the information relevant to that work. Website hosting, database, IT support and email service providers may process information as part of operating those services.

Recruitment can involve sharing relevant candidate information with a prospective employer or discussing a role with a candidate. Ask us about the intended recipient and the information involved before providing anything you do not want shared. Information may also need to be disclosed where required by law or to address a legal claim.

Email, WhatsApp and other services you follow from this website operate under their own privacy notices. Their processing may take place outside South Africa. This notice does not describe or control how those independent services use your information.

Information should be kept only for as long as it is needed for the enquiry or recruitment purpose, and for any applicable legal, record-keeping or dispute requirements. The appropriate period depends on the information and the circumstances, rather than one fixed period for every conversation.

You can ask us whether we still hold your information, why it is needed and whether it can be deleted. Website enquiry records and email correspondence are separate records; tell us which enquiry or application your request concerns. No website or email service can guarantee absolute security, so please use care when deciding what to send.
